Watch out for blue-green algae!
Please read very urgently this official information about blue-green algae, which is also valid IN WINTER due to the persistently too high temperatures:
Again and again dogs die in the warmer season because they drink water contaminated with blue-green algae. But blue-green algae can pose a danger not only to dogs, but also to humans, especially young children.
In order to warn of this danger, the Health and Building Departments have jointly created an information page on the subject. There, in addition to general information, are recommendations for behavior to avoid incidents, as well as a warning poster. The website can be accessed via the short URL zh.ch/blue-green algae to access the website.
Blue-green algae occur everywhere in our waters. It is not possible to continuously monitor all waters in the canton and keep a constantly updated overview of mass occurrences of blue-green algae on the water surface. The situation can change locally and temporally within a few hours. Bathing bans or closures on the lakeshore are therefore not effective. The only possible protection against blue-green algae is to keep the water clean as described under zh.ch/blue-green-algae is to follow the recommendations listed under "blue-green algae".
Thank you for your commitment to preventing poisoning with blue-green algae.
